Safari Knitting
We went to African Lion Safari this week. If you're a Simpsons fan, you'll be familiar with the concept from the episode where Grandpa Simpson gets an inheritance from his girlfriend, Bea. The Simpsons go to Discount Lion Safari, which is like the place we visited. Unlike some safari parks, this is the old-fashioned kind where there are no barriers (fences or moats) separating the more dangerous animals from the vehicles.
We saw some sleepy cheetahs up close.

The kids were amused by these primates which urinated on our side-view mirrors. The first thing we did after leaving the park was go through a car wash!

This zebra put her head close to the window. I actually had to lean back to get all of it in the shot.

We saw deer and giraffes.

There were lions, buffalo, ostriches and rhinos too. There was also an extensive aviary featuring parrots and birds of prey, a petting zoo, playground and splash park.
We made a side-trip to the Bricks 'n' Blocks Lego store in Waterloo. The kids played with their new Lego in the minivan, and made a city park at home.

And here's the knitting part of this post - I finished a pair of socks.
