Not Much To Show

I'm knitting a sweater, so I don't have much to show these days in terms of finished objects.

These days, after I pick up the kids, get home, make dinner, nag said kids to do their homework and sometimes cajole them into taking a bath, I settle into my room to play the guitar, read, knit, and ignore the big pile of clean laundry that needs folding and putting away.

I try to practice the guitar at least half an hour each day, which cuts into my knitting and reading time, making the latter two go... much... more... slowly.

Here is the younger one with his Lego Bionicle sweatshirt that my sister and brother-in-law gave him. He wanted his aunt and uncle to know that he likes it. It must be true, as he's worn it two days in a row, not even taking it off to go to sleep in between. I'm sure he would've gone a third day, had I not thrown it into the laundry during a bath.

Because there's so little knitting content in this post, here is my latest book acquisition, from the Needle Arts Bookshop. The package included surprise freebies: some bookplates and three packets of stitch markers in various sizes. Shipping was fast too. I could've waited 4-6 weeks for Amazon.ca to source the Zimmermann book, or have it delivered in 2 days by a small, specialized bookstore. I've decided to order all my knitting books from this local retailer from here on.

And again, because of the lack of knitting content, here is a project I made a few years ago. I never did take a picture of it. Well, that's taken care of.

Knitters will recognize this as the "Punk Rock Backpack" from the first Stitch 'n' Bitch book by Debbie Stoller.
