Pirates in Pyjamas
You turn a corner, then this jumps out at you -
Arrr! Going for a serious look here.
All because we bought the Pirates of the Caribbean DVD.
Remember the Handmaiden merino I bought to make another Flower Basket Shawl (PDF pattern here)? Well, I swatched it, trying different patterns, and the, uhm, Gestalt of the colours makes it inappropriate for lace or cables. It seems that it's destined to be a pair of plain socks. Progress is slow because BOOOR-ing!
Faster progress is happening on the Kiri shawl (PDF pattern here). As you may recall, I hated knitting Flower Basket, but I love wearing it. I wanted a similar trianglular lace scarf but in a cheerier, brighter colour (I did Flower Basket in a fall colourway - a dark royal purple).
Here it is on Friday...
and today...
The Kiri pattern was so much easier to do than Flower Basket.
