To the Frog Pond

First, a new picture of my niece (also somewhat new herself) .

Remember how not a month ago I said I would never knit lace again? Well, turns out that I like wearing the Flower Basket Shawl so much, even full of errors and all, that I wanted one in a lighter, brighter colour. So off to the LYS I went, to pick up a hank of Handmaiden Sock Yarn (100% washable merino wool) in a colourway that reminded me of fall leaves. Here it is before being wound into a ball (sorry about the crappy lighting - I tend to do these things late at night).

Sadly, the WIP reminds me of those barfy afghans everyone had in the 70s, in shades of orange, brown, and green.

Can you see flower baskets? Yeah, neither can I... so off to the frog pond it goes, to be forgotten as a horrible, ugly experiment gone awry.

In other news, I picked up these cute Peep brand toys for the kids for Easter. I figure it's better than getting them the real thing and they'll last longer besides.
